The Roman Well, Kalemegdan – Rimski bunar
The thing about the Roman well is that nobody is sure why
it was built and who exactly build it in the first place. Some researchers believe
that it was actually built in the 18th century and that it has
nothing to do with the Romans in the first place. The place itself is very
spooky, particularly because of the tales of prisoners being thrown down the
hole during the uncivilized times throughout the Belgrade history, the latest being the case from 1954, of a madman who killed his wife and threw her body in the well.
