Radical and awesome
Here’s a little example of how NOT to run the internet campaign:
You print thousands of leaflets advertising the new domain of your county “www.opstinabor.com”.
You mention the new domain “www.opstinabor.com” about thousand times on your local television to promote it.
You print billboards all over the town with the new domain address “www.opstinabor.com”.
You boast that your political party is responsible for the new domain and all the contents on it.
Everything is ok, except for one thing. You forgot to buy that domain.
Well this is exactly what Serbian Radicals, an ultra right wing nationalist party did. It seems now that they actually thought that it’s enough to just mention the name of the domain and that it is automaticaly theirs. In order to say what he thinks about them and to teach them a thing or two about the internet, one guy bought the advertised domain Opstina Bor and placed the following text on it: “Radicals, get the hell out of our town”.
Now the funny thing is, the radicals think it’s a conspiracy of “international forces in order to weaken their moral”. And even more funny is that some of them in town of Bor have been asking around if it’s possible to somehow override the content of the website by “placing a larger and stronger antenna on a higher ground”.
And, yes, for your information, this is the same party that won the majority of the votes in the previous elections and is now in the lead for the next ones according to the polls. Good thing is, nobody wants to go in coalition with them.

No, it seems that they didn’t even bother to buy it in the first place… it’s kind of sad but in a funny way.
Fucking A! I would suspect they owned the domain, but it expired?
oooooj! pass the rakija please this is too much for me!
pass the rakija on to me too. (Side note: i’ve read so many mentions of rakija in books about Bosnia that I feel as if I just have to try a drink some day)
Viktor,
thanks for the story. I wonder if Seselj will mention the “great international conspiracy” when he gives his opening statement?
I certainly hope that he will at least mention ‘the great internet mind control war’, Shaina, i expect to hear nothing less from him.
Is there any rakija for me?
There is always enough rakija for everyone! It never seems to run out..LOL!
I liked this story too!
