UPDATE (20th May 2011):
There were now two protests held, and there are plans to make one every week. I don’t know if it’s fair to call them “protests” because it’s mostly just people standing there and drinking in parks after 22h, but hey… You can see some photos on facebook from the gatherings if you click this link. And here’s a video recorded during one of the protests if you want to feel one tiny part of the atmosphere.

PREVIOUS ARTICLE>
You probably remember the article about the new alcohol sales ban in Belgrade. The implementation has already started, and in many shops around town you can’t buy alcoholic drinks after 22:00. From tomorrow the law starts to be implemented in all the shops. And of course there is a protest against this decision being organized in park near hotel “Palas”, Wednesday 11th of May 21:59. It’s not so much about the law itself, it probably won’t affect the quality of anyones life here in a significant way. But the very principle of bringing such a law without any public discussion is an issue. If you are free that evening come join the protestors in celebrating life without limitations such as this one.
