Novak Djokovic Unveils Monument to Himself at Serbia Open

Novak Djokovic may not be world’s number one tennis player yet, but he definitely is number one in eyes of his family.

Why else would they build him a monument and then make him unveil it just before Serbia Open?

Scratch that, one of the commentators reveals that the monument was built some time ago, but it probably won’t be displayed in Belgrade.

O dear, surely this is the kind of thing that should be made AFTER his career is over? Maybe they should have made his head a bit bigger.

  4. Arianit says:

I second bigger head request. Just remove the current one and he’ll be forced to put a bigger one.

He looks like a Mongolian warrior, what a horrible statue. We must have the worst statue designers in the world, the Johnny Depp statue is also horrible, and I think there are others equally as bad.

Sometimes it wouldn’t be a crime to ask a bit prior to writing in such manner.

This statue was made for Shanghai ATP / Tennis Master Cup in 2007. It is inspired by Terracotta Warriors (Wanqiu Bingmayong).

They simply exhibit it in their tennis complex…

What the hell are you guys talkin’ ‘bout. This statue has traditional chinese army clothes on. It was so obviously taken in China (ie during the Olympics)
