Non-smoking cafes in Belgrade

woman,smoking,thinking,cigarette,hand,belgrade,beograd,belgrado

Since the new anti-smoking law was implemented some weeks ago, the situation with the cafes, restaurants and clubs has never been worse – it seems that the smokers are now smoking even more in these because they can’t do it at their work places, in shopping malls and other public places.
I wanted to make a list of the non-smoking cafes here for those few of us who would like to sit somewhere, enjoy their drink and not have to come out smelling like a pack of no filter “Drinas” that died in somebody’s mouth. Ok, behold the list so far:

Everest veggie cafe/restaurant, Gospodar Jevremova 47a
Old Greenet cafe, Nusiceva street,
Apropo, Cara Lazara street,
Bio Bar, Cara Urosa 9 (open ‘till 19h)

Note really impressive for a city of two million people, huh.
Please add more.

Elixir in Kralja Petra may be smoke-free, they’re quite health oriented… Blog’s looking better btw. :)

  2. I’m pretty sure that Joy Vegetarian restaurant is smoke free (Svetagorska 18). It’s not technically a cafe though.

“Greenet” on Slavija… If you can call the 6 chairs inside a caffee :) )

  4. Gretchen says:

Elixir on Kralja Petra, despite being very “healthY”, was not smoke free last time I was there (6 months ago)...quite a disappointment. The Roggenart Cafe on Kralja Petra is smoke free, as well as Time Out Cafe near Trg Republika

  5. Viktor says:

Sorry to disappoint you, Gretchen, but Time Out is no longer smoke free either.

  6. cicija says:

In hotel Moskva cafe there was one separate room (cafe as well) for non-smokers.

@Gretchen – Time Out Cafe, since last week, is not smoke free anymore :(

  8. I just noticed that Coffee Dream off Knez Mihailova is smoke free, too.

Gretchen, believe it or NOT I passed by the Time Out cafe the other day, and from the outside saw ashtrays and people SMOKING in a cafe that was smoke-free up until the law was “imposed” this is somthing you could witness ONLY IN Serbia…....

I’m not sure if you want to count this as a cafe, but the McCafe (ie in Mcdonald’s) in the city center was completely smoke free…It was the only place I found smoke free after walking for over an hour around the city…actually, there were a few places I saw with smoke free signs, but that didn’t seem to stop patrons from lighting up inside.
