Miroslav Ilic – our new ambassador to Tunisia?

That day was bound to come – when we decide to send a folk star as a diplomatic representative of our country. Well, at least that’s the word on the streets of Belgrade (still not official), and at least it’s not a turbo-folk, but an old school folk star, Miroslav Ilic (defense minister’s father-in-law – a coincidence?)

Here’s Miroslav with an old tune of his, “Amerika”.

Lyrics go “America is a great country, but a square meter of my village equals entire America” (now that I translate it, sounds a lot like some US country song lyric)

Anyways, here are a couple more suggestions from Belgraded.com to the folks deciding who will be our diplomatic representatives in the world.

Stoja for the European Council representative:

Chorus lyrics:
One more [glass]! Than whoa!
Everybody’s on the table
Europe? Nah.
In the whole world there’s nothing like it [x2]

Keba for the UK ambassador: Lozac Ugljena (video tribute to Freddie Mercury)

Got any more suggestions?
