Frozen Knez Mihailova

Nice chance to see a bit of Belgrade’s biggest and busiest pedestrian street on a sunny day: crew from NGO YIHR made an omage to a performance Frozen Grand Central made by a New York based group. This time with a slight political note – frozen Serbia after 11th of May – and as a part of a broader campaign, Vazni smo mi (“we matter”).

This was more of a ripoff than “omage” (you probably meant homage, or hommage for the francophone-ically inclined out there).

In any event, the whole thing is excruciatingly pathetic neoliberal bullshit. Off-camera, these ghastly flunkies were probably instructed to put away their LDP-issued Cheda t-shirts for 10 minutes in order to create an appearance of impartiality in the video.

On an off note: Man, I wish I was the president of a Western-financed NGO in Belgrade. Forget the football, education, and customs mafia(s), this is the biggest racket in the country by a long shot.
