Vesna Vukelic Vendi is too big of a legend not to be mentioned on a site like this.
If you from time to time stumble across the wastelands of Serbian internet, you are bound to bump into this queen of Serb virals – her picture and video exploits are being sent around the net on a daily basis. But who is she really?
No one can figure Vendi out to the very end, that’s for sure. She’s been around the scene for throughout the nineties, shot to prominence after a host of a popular TV show noticed her sitting in the audience behind him and made a comment about her boobs. She is a renaissance personality having played in some of the worst movies ever made by a living organism, being a member in one of the weirdest Serbian political parties, made some of the worst songs ever to penetrate a human ear, owns the weirdest Serbian myspace friend collection (now that IS difficult!) and to this day her very existence continues to baffle the average and above-the-average Serbian mind. Some will say that she does it all for money, but that would be too easy to be true. Some say that she truly believes what she does is good, but this outspoken ex-teacher is definitely not a stupid woman. Others claim that she does it all for fun, but it’s definitely too much work and self-sacrifice involved for such a trivial gain.
I’m personally convinced that she does not do it for the money nor the fame but for some higher purpose – IMHO she’s probably on a subversive mission sent from God to Serbia to destroy the Turbo Folk scene from inside, but that’s still just a wild guess. We’ll probably never know, so it’s maybe for the best to just enjoy this show, because she obviously does.

What a great read. That video was classic. I saw her live once, i think it was about two years ago, no makeup, no boob-flashing or anything like that and she looked so normal, i was stunned. So maybe she actually is an undercover agent trying to eat turbofolk from the inside. If that is the case, GO VENDI!
Adam, I believe that in this case the gentle line between “man-made music” and “interesting noises” has never been thinner.

Analiticar, that is my theory exactly. I see you already analyzed one of Vendi’s songs, “Pracnuo se sarancic” and that the song got the highest grades. Well deserved!

Wendy is made of stuff of legends, but I vote for the host, which I think is Zorica Markovic. Her renditon of Sexy robot sends me overboard every time.
