Miladin Kovacevic case: lessons to be learned

Ah, the lessons we learn in life. Everyone’s got some out of Miladin Kovacevic’s, or as the US media like to put it “Serb thug’s” case.

Miladin:
1. Do not bully other people just because you can.
2. If you really have to bully people, don’t put them in a coma.
3. Do not run away after causing trouble.
4. If you have to run away, do not involve Serbian diplomacy in your getaway.

The victim:
1. Do not grope other people’s girlfriends.
2. If you still want to grope other people’s girlfriends, first check to see if they don’t have friends twice your size.
3. Do not mess with people twice your size.

Serbia:
1. Do not issue false documents.
2. If you really have to issue false documents, make sure you don’t do it in countries more powerful than yourself.

America:
1. Don’t bully other countries just because you can.

Your advice to the victim is akin to telling a girl that was raped not to wear makeup and a tight shirt. The girl he “groped” says that he never groped her. The victim did not “mess” with someone twice his size – he was assaulted.

  2. Really? I read at a lot of message boards that he did grope her and that he hit Miladin’s friend in the face. Please send us some link with the girl’s side of the story.

The fight was started between the girl’s boyfriend, Sanel Softic, who is a Bosnian Muslim (I believe he has dual citizenship), and Bryan Steinhauer. No one ever gave this boyfriend’s size but he only looks average in the pictures, while the girl looks possibly petite herself. Her name is Melissa Cartegena.

The boyfriend believed the guy was hitting on his girlfriend – getting too close to her and following her around. He also suspected him of gropping her. So he started accusing and arguing with Bryan Steinhauer.

Melissa Cartegena did claim that Bryan Steinhauer head-butted Sanel (so Bryan made the first physically violent move according to her statement – he in fact used his head as a weapon) and Sanel got a bloody nose. If true, this is why I believe it would have been Sanel who attacked Bryan’s head – he was already very angry and suspicious with him, then to be hit and have that pain from being head-butted would have made him more likely to get revenge.

Miladin Kovacevic only became involved after this point. He said he was hit in the side of the head by Bryan Steinhauer and admits to knocking him down after this, but says he did not attack him after this. If his statement is true, then it would mean the blows were delivered by Sanel and another Muslim from Bosnia who was arrested as well.

Melissa said Bryan Steinhauer threw a punch but didn’t know if it was aimed for Sanel or Miladin. Don’t know if this was the punch which hit Miladin on the side of the head.

Plus, the blood alcohol level of all 4 involved is not released to the public. If Melissa’s description of his behavior is true, Bryan sounded drunk.

In any event he is out of the coma and I suspect he was out long before they mentioned it but that they wanted to make things seem even worse to make their case better.

There is no pictures or video of Bryan Steinhauer such that people are able to see for themselves. Nor is their his medical reports related to the incident or were their any doctor’s statements regarding his condition over the last several months.

Here are some quotes which the press says were in the 80-page police report which was released briefly but then rescinded:

“Melissa had her back to him, and he was getting very close to her,” Softic, who is also charged in the beating, told the police right after the fight.

“I stepped between them and said, ‘What the hell are you doing? This is my girlfriend! Get the f- – - out of here!” said Softic, 21.

But Steinhauer clenched his fists and twice yelled, “You don’t f- – -ing know me!” before butting his head into the taller Softic’s face, bloodying his nose, according to Softic’s statement.

Also, the Bosnians involved didn’t admit at first they took part in the beating while Bryan Steinhauer was on the ground, but then later they did, but qualified it by claiming they limited it to his body only.

This to me show that they tried to lie or not divulge the whole truth of what they did, but later must have realized that witnesses or other evidence (including, perhaps, Melissa’s statements to the police) would show they did hit him while on the ground. But their qualifying is trying to shirk responsibility of injuries to his head/face. Yet why would people angry enough to hit him while he was on the ground be reserved about his face/head. The same face which had been arguing with Sanel and same head which had allegedly purposely rammed his face? Plus his feeling threatened by Steinhauer’s moves towards his girlfriend?
    ——————
Then there is this quote by Melissa where she is screaming at her boyfriend after the incident and asking why he did that. I believe she was shocked and upset by his savage beating of Bryan Steinhauer.
But after they regrouped they decided to pin the lion’s share of the blame on Miladin, so they wouldn’t be penalized for the serious injuries:

“Sanel, why did you do that? He didn’t even touch me!” a sobbing Melissa Cartagena screamed in the car at her boyfriend, Sanel Softic, according to one of several detailed statements in an 80-page police report obtained by The Post.

Softic replied: “I don’t care. He touched your ass.”

I remember a poster commented that Miladin did the right thing running away as he was being railroaded – both by the system and the girl and two Bosnians. This guy claimed he did read the police report before it was taken down and it left him with that impression that Miladin was being railroaded and that it was the Bosnian guys who kept beating him after he was downed by Miladin.

IDA you sound like a nice little, racist Serb. I like how you have to point out that the 2 Bosnian guys are Muslims, each time you mention them, and then without any supporting evidence at all say that Miladin is being railroaded by “the two Bosnians” and that he didn’t do anything wrong. It sounds like you couldn’t refute the evidence since your first comment, where you try to say the whole thing is Bryan’s fault, so then in your second comment you try to say the whole thing was the “2 Bosnian’s” fault, and that poor Miladin didn’t do anything. Yeah it’s very likely that smaller person Bryan head butted one bigger guy and made his nose bleed, and then threw yet another punch at an even bigger guy. It’s even more unlikely, that those “2 Bosnians” try to put all the blame on Miladin, if they were such good friends that Miladin almost killed someone to protect the Bosnian guy’s “honor”.
