Bloggers and readers of B92 blog managed to do the impossible in the past week – to choose the worst Serbian films, actors and actresses, among other things, and practically founded Golden Plum Awards – our version of Razzies. It seems that this event will be marked as a historic one, because the idea found a fairly good reception among the internet audience at least.

Here are the winners and a bit about them:

Milica Milsa for worst actress, in Where the Yellow Lemon Blooms. Milica Milsa is truly a bad actress, managing to get her roles by some magical way, I believe – I have no better explenation really. By the lack of additional information on IMBD you can assume that the movie wasn’t pretty good either.

Sergej Trifunovic won the worst actor golden plum for his role in Uslovna sloboda, movie that won third place in Worst Director and Worst movie cathegories, not a masterpiece by any chance. Sergej is one of our few actors who tried his luck in Hollywood, co-starring in couple of lower budget movies. Otherwise not so bad of an actor, he is still more famous for his arrogant and often obnoxious behaviour than acting – one of the last episodes included him being a blogger at B92 and managing to cause the first Serbian blogging incident.

Worst film director award went to Sinisa Kovacevic for Sinovci, a highly anticipated drama about the wars Serbia has been involved in the past century that seems to have failed miserably – I haven’t seen it but nobody I asked had good comments. It seems that mr Kovacevic will go back to his previous job – a screenwriter.

Worst movie: A3, the third sequel to the legendary cult Serbian movie We are not angels movie from 1992, failing even more miserably than the sequel number two. One of the co-writers, Dimitrije Vojnov, thanked for his award, stating that the film crew is happy to have won at least some awards for the movie. Dimitrije also almost won the award for the worst movie critic (this one was actually a compliment) but he lost it to Aleksandar Radivojević i Nenad Bekvalac and their cult movie critics show Sok Koridor, a show that deserves a separate post on this blog some other time.

Special awards: for the general contribution to the Serbian cinematography: Ivana Mihic, one of the worst actresses and producers the world has ever seen, won The Golden Slivovitz award.

Golden Plum Marmelade for the worst movie in Serbian movie-making history went to the ever-popular Battle of Kosovo, played on national TV in special occasions such as NATO bombing, important Kosovo negotiations, parlamentary elections, Vidovdan etc. Boj na Kosovu is directed by the freshly voted worst director in Serbian movie-making history, Zdravko Sotra, responsible for such blockbusters as Zona Zamfirova, Ivkova Slava and the above mentioned Where the Yellow Lemon Blooms.

All of the awards are well deserved, and what a tough competition it was. Hopefully next year it will be a bit easier to choose the worst ones.

You forgot to mention all those mistakes from Boj na Kosovu, like Puma socks, and digital watches :)

You’re being way too tough and unfair when it comes to Trifunovic.

I know it’s very easy to hate a guy who bangs models, divides his time between LA, NY, and Belgrade, and seems to have an overall fab life, however, he really IS a good actor.

I’m too a bit surprised for Segrej Trifunović‘s plum. Although he is not one of my favourite characters, I have to admit that he is usually extremely good as far as his acting is concerned. Haven’t seen Uslovna sloboda though, so I’d appreciate it if someone could explain why the plum went to him for this movie – was he really that bad?

Bane Trifkovic is definately the worse actor. Sergei has put in some pretty good performances in the past. Maybe its because he’s quite high profile.

I agree that Milisa is a bad actress, shes also pretty clueless in other aspects of life too. I remember watching a repeat of some third rate new years get together on television. It was pitiful (in terms of layout design, content and people present) but Milisa was too clueless to realise how sad it was. Isidora Bjelica was also present but at least she looked embarassed to be there….
