It may not be so big international news such as Radiohead’s free album, but in terms of Serbian or ex-Yu scene, this is an important step. Obojeni Program, one of the best bands ever to emerge from Novi Sad, has just released the new album for free download. It’s the first famous ex-Yu band to do this, unless I missed some similar release by some other equally known band earlier.

Go download it, and give it a spin, and if you like it, well, maybe Obojeni Program will follow in Radiohead’s footsteps all the way and make it possible for fans to pay an amount if they like what they hear. I’d love to be able do that, OP are definitely one of our coolest bands.

While you wait for the 1 gigabyte file [which besides supreme audio quality also contains original artwork by band’s frontman Kebra] to download, have a look at a couple of Program’s videos and listen to some of their earlier releases [in poor sound quality, but hey].

As far as I remember, for Radiohead’s album you had to pay something. From 1 pound up to whatever you wanted – no totally free download…

And if you go to Label Star’s website: http://labelstar-music.com/ you’ll find several totally free albums… from some more or less known musicians and bands… :)

You’re probably right, somehow I remember there was an option to enter 0 pounds, but I might be wrong.
Thanks for the link, some good stuff there. The only difference seem to be the sound quality – Obojeni Program uploaded original studio quality uncompressed album, these are all mp3 files as I can see…
