Organisers have announced that this years Belgrade Beer Festival will take place from the 16th August to the 20th August. All the ‘usual’ beers will be in attendance but this year the selection will be more varied (hooray) and for the first time fruit flavoured beers will also be on sale. Prices will be cheap as is the tradition – averaging around 1 Euro.
As in previous years bands will also be playing including Eyesburn, Orthodox Celts, Rambo Amadeus, Darkwood Dub, Atomic Shelter (from Croatia), Sukar (from Slovenia) and many others.

Those of you who closely follow the international press will already know that the Beer Festival has received rave reviews from visiting critics. The British independent has placed the festival among the top 20 events in Europe this year so dont miss it.

The Belgrade Beer Festival is also seen as one of the top annunal events in Serbia

A note about accomodation in Belgrade during the festival. The cheaper Belgrade hotels and youth Belgrade hostels are saying that they have taken many bookings for that period and some Belgrade hostels have already sold out so dont leave it too late.

How is the variety of beers there?

As much as I enjoyed it in Serbia, one thing I don’t miss all that much is Jelen Pivo …

BG Anon et al, perhaps we should organize a meeting of drunk English language bloggers at the Belgrade beer fest?

What do y’all think?

Yeah good idea serbianmess.

I was just looking at the schedule today. I think very late Wednesday Thursday evening and Saturday looks good. Also have to remember that the best beer can sell out and for me there is nothing worse than drinking poor qulity beer so think I will miss Sunday.

Do you want to suggest a day? Drop me a mail. We could do a joint Beer Festival Special at the blogs. Each with his own photos and opinion. I’ll stick something up at my B92 blog too to maybe attract a few more punters to our own non B92 blogs.
