It’s from the end of the eighties though, but – it’s sung in English and it’s fun. The video and song were made as a part of the campaign to host the Olympic games in 1992. We were this close to becoming the host, but a war came in the way, and Barcelona got it. Okay, so maybe you think that Freddy Mercury/Montserrat Caballé duet was a bit better, but it’s just a matter of taste.

Actually, I think Belgrade’s candidacy was for the 1996 games that eventually went to Atlanta. This video is from the late eighties, and I think host cities are selected 7 years in advance, so it makes sense.

Aaah, glorious 80s.. The clip is nice and innocent. In a nutshell, Belgrade is fun
OK, its cheesy 80’s stuff, but on thing strikes me: Belgrade was somehow much more European then, before the horror of the 90’s. That video could be Denmark in the 80’s. One can really see the scars of the 90’s when you contrast the city today with the city then.
