Belgrade under Belgrade

P1070110We don’t have a metro, but that doesnt mean you can’t move around under the city of Belgrade. Rulers of Belgrade in ancient and not so ancient times thought it could be useful to dig some holes under the city as a place to hide and keep food and drink in emergency situations, as escape tunnels and for digging the stone to build houses and buildings throughout the city.

Akademija

Good ol’ Akademija (aka “Demija”) is the cult Belgrade club from the early eighties.

Ana 4 Pistolja

On the site of former club “Lagum”, that used to play all sorts of rock and pop, comes a new club called “Ana 4 pištolja” (“Ana Four Guns”). It’s apparantly the same crew who owns and runs the tiny cool cafe with the same name in Kosovska street 35. New club is pretty darn big, with cool cave-like enterior and one of the most interesting gardens in Belgrade, so it’s bound to be good also during the summer.

Andergraund

Andergraund is one of the first clubs in Belgrade with a bit more “urban” atmosphere.

Beggars Banquet

As the name suggests, the enterior of the club is like you just walked in The Rolling Stones shrine. The music played in the club mostly fits in the enterior, with some sacriliguos exceptions, when you can hear also disco, pop and other softer genres. Mostly older crowd, often live music and fairly cheap drinks stand as a guarantee for a good time.

Fili

There are couple more clubs worth visiting in Resavska street – Fili near the corner with Srpskih vladara street – weird people and weird music on most nights,
